Being a Seth Rogen fan helps enjoy this otherwise lacking film.

This movie has gotten really polarizing reviews and I can see why; the writing and the romantic interests are pretty weak, the plot line is oversimplified, the comedy is sometimes stale or immature, and the illusion this plot line might have any correlation with current events is cringe worthy.

This said I went into this experience not expecting much and I moderately enjoyed myself.

I liked that the movie was well paced- offered a variety of engaging imagery- the plot was kinda unusual and of its time. I am a fan of Seth Rogen and from what I expected of him- he did not disappoint. Being central to this movie, I found Rogen gave me a good excuse to laugh at the otherwise stupid comedy and he helped me connect more with the plot to a degree.

If however, I didn't like Seth Rogen it's possible I could be very disappointed in this movie on many levels.

Ultimately, seeing how this movie repeats certain jokes from other, better, Seth Rogen movies I see a 3 out of 5 to be fitting as I enjoyed it but probably won't watch it again.

Some people have written that you need to be under 30 to enjoy this. I would add that you also have to consider this movie through a lens of the mid 2010's and you would have a fairly enjoyable watch.

One reviewer said this was for the under 30's. I disagree, it's for the under 14's. Coupled with the fact that it's juvenile it's also so badly written that you know exactly what is going to happen next all the way through. And I'm someone who rarely predicts correctly who the murderer is in 'whodunnit' films, so if I knew what was coming next it's got to be bad.

My husband managed 45 minutes of this film before giving up, I ploughed on til the end. And regretted doing so. A dreadful film that could have been good given the subject matter.

One of the best comedies ever made

Great witty script, Dave Skylark is awesome! The tiger scene is hilarious, the plot is brilliantly funny and the soundtrack is amazing. Seth Rogan's best film but what do I know? I maybe 'honey dicking' you all! :)

I had put this off for ages and decided on a spur of the moment t watch it
I was admirably surprised at the outcome, James Franco playing a cranky host intent on extricating dirt from his guests to sustain their viewers. Seth Rogen surprisingly directed and performs as the show director and quite badly at that in my lowly opinion. It's a spoof comedy inter pursed with some great shoots on locations. Its light entertainment and if you have practically 2 hrs to kill watch its fun.

This is the worst film i've ever watched

This film is complete rubbish, poorly written and unnecessarily vulgar to the point where it stops being mindless fun and just becomes cringeworthy. the writing and comedy in this film seems like it was written by and for 16 year olds. If you like this film then good for you, i hope you enjoy it! But I can't watch this trash anymore, what a shame.

Not my cup of tea

I have attempted to watch this twice now and have fallen asleep once and turned it off on the second occasion. Between the film being not particularly funny and poorly written plot, I would recommend watching some thing else.

This was neither terrible nor great. Cringeworthy humor, but not to the extent of a Borat film mixed with what I felt was a good dose of bat crap craziness that I'm sure a real tabloid interview with the all-knowing leader of North Korea would be like.
