A great 90 minutes with The Hollars

As a big fan of The Office, I was looking forward to seeing John Krasinki's directorial debut feature and it didnt disappoint.

A great cast, including Anna Kendrick, Richard Jenkins and Charlie Day kept what could have potentially been quite a difficult topic light hearted and positive.

I look forward to watching this again in the future and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

The Closer I Am To Fine
4.5 stars

John Krasinski wrote and directed this film. A film about fractured families trying to find their way. A young man, John, comes home when he finds out his mother is ill with a brain tumor. Mom, played by Margo Martindale, steals this film in every way. Not only is she the mother that holds everyone together, she holds the film together. John's father, Richard Jenkins, you have seen him everywhere in many films, has always held on to his wife to make his life right. John has a brother who lives with his parents since his divorce. And, then there is Rebecca played by Anna Kendrick. She is the girlfriend, very pregnant, loves John, but knows he is not happy.

Okay, here is the family, torn apart, trying to work together to get mom well. Mom does her job, keeps them right on track until it is time to go to surgery, and she doesn't want to go. Family, take over, please. Each character has their issues, trying to find themselves. Not sure what the outcome will be, but then, who does. The only irritation was the male nurse who seems to run the entire hospital, and has a history with John. A fun film, filled with some wisdom.
