How have I not heard of this film until now?

I don't call many things brilliant but this is. It's like if Tarantino's True Romance were written by Jane Austen or if Barbara Streisland's What's Up Doc were about drug dealers. This film just perfectly balances everything. And the cast are faultless. David Oyelowo has to taken the most praise as the central character who is unfailingly likeable, frequently hilarious and always believable. But everyone - Charlize Theron, Joel Edgerton, Thandie Newton, Amanda Seyfried, Sharlto Copley, all of them - are great.

This film has a perfect script. Nothing in it could be changed without lessening the whole. And it's brilliantly directed - so well that you can't see the effort that must have gone into this.

Totally blown away by this film.

Meh...

Gringo is altogether a poor film which however quite unexpectedly provides belly laughs at times and whose dullness surely cannot be blamed on actors' performance. It's just a uninventive story with no great mystery, misery or storyline that would allow for character development, identification or anything else.

Funny little find. Well produced and acted. Really enjoyed it the only unbelievable thing was the quality of the skype calls; they dodnt spend the first 10 mins of each call adjusting sound, getting disconnected or shouting can you hear me.

Wasn't expecting much but instantly got sucked in. It was very funny, and I found myself rooting for Harold from the outset. Really sharp writing, a great script. The acting was great, the direction too,the pacing, and the story overall was a cracker, and there were lots of laugh out loud moments. So glad I watched this, really cheered me up and made me think maybe there's hope for nice people after all.

A businessman, Harold Soyinka (David Oyelowo), is sent to Mexico by his boss to deliver a formular to a lab. While in Mexico, Harold is kidnapped with a ransom demand of $5m for his release. Harold's bosses refuse to budge.

Also stars Charlize Theron and Joel Edgerton.

I'll give this movie a '7 out of 10' rating.

Not the usual sort of film i would choose, however with a few well known actors in it this film and the storyline surprised me and I would and already have recommended it to friends. Can be a bit confusing at times according to my partner but being a woman the plot remained crystal clear throughout to me.

I was pleasantly surprised by this flick, it has lots going on and a few things made me laugh out loud, its a little dark too which appears to my sense of humour but also has a great story that's well told!

Amusing and well acted comedy of errors.

Quite an amusing film. Charlise Theron plays an excellent role as a carreerist corporate monster who she manages to make sympathetic, believable and horrifying all at the same time as the cracks and insecurities of the characters psyche are subtly brought out.
