3.0 out of 5 starsWarm, cosy, and semi-convincing, but not great quality

There’s a soft urban casual to this leather jacket that’s less Route 66 and more suburban midlife crisis. It’s got a sheen to it that’s a little more plastic than leather, but the design of it is moderately convincing and it does a half-decent imitation of leather. The inner cotton hoodie part helps ensure that the look is decidedly unthreatening and non-aggressive.
I got a large, which is usually my size, and the fit is generally OK in most respects- the arms, the shoulders- but the whole jacket is surprisingly short at the bottom, with the bottom of the zip barely touching belt level. It’s a teeny bit figure-hugging, but not excessively so. It’s warm and cosy, and winter-friendly provided that the high waistline on it doesn’t leave gaps for the wind to get in! The layout is generally OK and it’s comfortable for putting your hands into the side pockets, and so on.
The manufacturing quality is a bit disappointing, considering the asking price of over sixty at time of writing. In the one I got there are several loose threads, some of them quite severe, especially on the hoodie part, and I’m a little bit surprised that it got past any quality control tests. The ugly brand label on the inside seems to be a fair signifier of this as budget quality rather than premium.
I’m enjoying wearing this jacket so far, but the pieces don’t quite all fall into place and the quality is just a touch on the ropey side. Three stars seems fair.
