I decided to rent this having bought Hollywood Dirt, Driven and Afterburn/Aftershock which were not as good as I thought they would be. For the price they were disappointing.

Gabriel’s Inferno though, well it had the perfect actors to play Gabriel and Julia and the chemistry between them was pure perfection. I am so excited to see the next part of the movie and I would highly recommend that you watch this one, even purchase this as you will want to watch it again. This movie did the book justice unlike the other movies based on books.

The book is much better

I can't understand how anyone, who didn't read the book first, could possibly understand the storyline offered by the film! There was no resemblance. The male lead was very tasty, whereas the female, although probably a very nice person in real life, wasn't even close to the character in the book. Sorry. It could have been brilliant, but wasn't. Where was the professor/student conflict? Where was the backstory of the seventeen year old with the older cocaine addict in the orchard? Not explained at all! Well. All I can say is, stick with the books. Much better!

Acting not great, although I think that’s down to the Director. (Too many long pauses where you wonder whether the characters have fallen into a stupor, and a tendency for under or over-acting.) Poor dialogue and writing. Shame cos it had potential.

Beguiling book adaptation, am hooked.

Perfectly cast movie (especially Emerson) and extremely true to the book. There are three parts, so this movie is for the first part of the book. The third is hopefully just about to be released on Amazon, it’s released on Passionflix already but I prefer to wait until I can watch it thru Amazon.

Actor playing Gabriel is good but not keen on actress playing female lead. Great storyline as same as the books but very expensive as there are 3 parts to purchase.

Slow burn 🔥

I've not read the book and so came upon this series of films after watching the lead actor Giulio Berruti in another movie. I have now watched all 3 films and I thoroughly enjoyed them. These films are a slow burn and the connection between the 2 main characters is palpable. Its pure escapism for a few hours! Can't wait for the next book to be filmed to see what happens to Gabriel and Julia.
