UPDATE: I had a rethink and decided to give the shirt another try, with the intention of adhering to the laundering instructions. Sadly, the 2nd shirt sent was nothing like the 1st one; much lighter material and the finishing (seam edges, label stitching etc) poorly executed. It went from being a quality shirt to being something you might pick up on a market stall. Disappointed again but for a different reason. I won't be buying it a 3rd time!
So, I looked around for something smart-casual that I could wear on nights out - and I was attracted to these shirts because of the variety of colours available. I also liked the giraffe logo. Initially, I was going to order the black/red shirt, but then went for the grey shirt (also my wife’s preference).
It fits well / as expected, and is comfortable to wear. In fact, I’ve taken to wearing it around the house - so it has been through the wash a few times. It has kept its shape and colour, so all good.
I may have to order the black/red one, next…

The Giraffe doesn't look like it's portrayed in the pictures, I'm sure in the pics it looks like the Giraffe is two tone, as in it's got orange/brown patches like a real giraffe but on the t-shirt it's one solid yellow colour. Perhaps it's just shading on the Amazon pics making it look so, but I was expecting something slightly different, kind of how some Ralph Lauren horses come with colours depicting their reins, hooves etc in a different colour. Also in the pics, the area around the collar looks to be yellow, and the bands on the arm look a bit more orange, which I thought looked really nice (and would fit well with the Giraffe being two tone) but they are in fact the same colour. I'm not sure if the design has changed since they took the photo on the sales page, but the picture and the item are quite different. I would have definitely preferred the way it looks on the pic, with a two tone Giraffe, two coloured accents, and dark buttons. I definitely think the picture should be updated as it's not indicative of the product received, or at least a better quality picture that shows it close up if indeed I'm not seeing it right - have a look yourself though, do the buttons look dark to you too? Does the collar accent look a different colour to those on the sleeves, and does the Giraffe look like it has darker coloured patches on it? Because it certainly does to me, with my glasses on and off, and with my super crisp Galaxy phone on full brightness and ultra HD settings.
There's a lot of loose threads around the collar and buttons. If this were my own purchase I'd have to spend a little time trimming the cotton strands before wearing, and that's supposed to be the job of quality control of the manufacturer isn't it?
The buttons are the cheapy clear ones that tend to break in half easily, I was expecting coloured ones that'd match the polo shirt itself, as it seems to have dark ones in the picture. Again, this could be just the picture but my answer to that would be, take better pictures and show more of the item close up so assumptions aren't based off low resolution pictures.
Pros: It's a very nice, soft and stretchy material, the colours are nice and deep and I like the fact the sleeves are tapered so they sit snug to the arm rather than flap around. They've definitely got the styling right.
It came well packaged and on time within its own bag, with swing tags attached to the shirt itself, usually the staple of more expensive clothing items.
If there's any problems with it quality wise, like it falls apart after one wash, I'll update this review but I won't know til the gift has been given and then it's been worn. Would I buy this for myself? Probably not, for a few extra quid I'd choose a designer Polo shirt. If it were more around the £10 mark then perhaps, but closer to £20 I don't think it represents good value. You're paying for the Giraffe embroidery really, and as it's not a known logo it doesn't justify the extra price between this and a bog standard Polo available from all clothes shops - unless of course you're a massive fan of Giraffes.
Edit. Gift given, and worn straight away. Seems to be appreciated by the reciever so bumped up the score. Wasn't my opinion that mattered with this item.
