Drama Mystery

This is a remake of the original 1990 version starring Kieffer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon, William Baldwin, and Oliver Platt.

Five medical students play god by stopping their hearts for short periods of time to experience life after death. II am not sure why they decided to remake this movie as it is not half as good as the original in my honest opinion.

I will give this remake a rating of '4.5 out of 10' while the original 1990 version will score an easy '7.5 out of 10' rating.

Disappointing

This is ultimately very boring and bland beyond description. A totally forgettable film that had so many big plot holes you could drive a truck through and not touch the sides. Life after death is a very subjective subject that one day we all have no choice but to face. i would have preferred a film based on peoples perceived experiences of Near Death and a film made to explore these concepts in a thought provoking Sci Fi style way but instead we got NOTHING of note just what seemed a film that was written on the back of a cigarette packet and made with money found down the back of the sofa. Oh! well, another dvd destined for the charity shop

Good concept, but not so well executed
Verified purchase
There is a promising premise and a talented cast, but all the potential in the movie is wasted in a forgettable, boring and a poor attempt at a horror movie with a generic and uninspired narrative a lack of scares. The first half was chilling, compelling and mysterious. But the resolution was flat and way too easy.

Nice idea, completely bad execution

The film wasn't great. I thought to give it a try despite the bad reviews, but unfortunately it met the (bad) expectations.

The plot could have been explained in a slightly more "scientifically realistic" way, but they decided to keep instead huge holes in the plot.

Terrible film

Terrible and forgettable. The premise just doesn't lead to a satisfying story

Worth a watcg

I really liked this movie. Though there are spoilers. It is quiet creepy. Don't mess with the other side as you do not know what demons you are going to let through. The original was better though with a more famous cast. Worth a watch.

... ok but I felt that it couldn't do any better than the original

The film was ok but I felt that it couldn't do any better than the original. I would recommend seeing the original before seeing this version.
