Enjoyable film but with "Act 3 problems"
Verified purchase
Watched this prior to seeing any reviews so had no expectations.
Up-tight guy and irresponsible hippy brother (who hate each other) take a road trip, seemingly to discover their biological father but the real journey is to better understand each other and themselves.
Each "father" they discover is an opportunity to learn about themselves and each other, experiencing a different father figure. And this is how it starts off, but then it "fizzles out". They don't grow or develop as people or solve any issues from their past.
The ending feels like a re-write and doesn't fit in with the rest of the film.

Owen Wilson deserves better
Verified purchase
Owen Wilson deserves better, there are very few gags in this comedy. Sometimes a joke will start and you've already guessed the punchline five minutes before the film has come to the same conclusion. It's a road trip movie that wanders slowly from scene to scene. A late twist can't even save it. No wonder this film was made then shelved for 3 years

Great cast and good entertainment...

This is not an academy award nominee or a sophisticated film. It is a comedy and as a comedy it is entertaining enough. I love Owen Wilson, Ed Helms and Glen Close and together they have been as entertaining as one could expect. I am not ashamed to say I actually quiet enjoyed this film :)

Not bad but not as funny as I hoped...

With Owen Wilson and Ed Helms together I thought this would be a full out right laugh out loud movie... It was 'Kinda' funny in part but otherwise ok not a bad story line and easy to watch
