Great film firmly carried along by another great performance form Micheal Jah White, I have no idea why he never made it bigger I think hes a great actor and martial artist! Seems like a nice guy in real life, has great on screen charisma. I dont wanna spoil the story but hes an interesting character with his own problems and gets sucked down into the crime world of south america. Great directing and action scenes, acting is good. Hard to fault. I mean it's just a cheesy action film but good fun! I have to say actually it does get a bit boring towards the last 20 minutes... Still above average low budget action flick, love all the choreography from Micheal...

Martial arts films are a genre I tend to stay away from normally unless it is something a little different from the rest out there. But when it comes to Michael Jai White I will watch his films. This is another one where his fighting skills are as awesome as they seem effortless for him to show off. Being shot in Brazil, with the added plot inc Brazilian drug dealers and the Yakuza makes for a very entertaining and action filled film. This is one I can easily recommend as a must watch for those who like some kick butt revenge from a no nonsense, my way or the highway, hero with an attitude, an equaliser of equilibrium...guy on a big adrenaline fuelled one man war rampage!

Mindless action entertainment

The plot is unoriginal, the outcome is predictable and not too much thought is required, but if you're just looking for undemanding entertainment, the lead actor is excellent (in both his acting and his action skills), the action scenes are fun and the result is enjoyable. Much better than I expected.

Action, action, action

Am easy to watch action movie with a lot of action and a pretty good storyline. There was nothing much on the box and I wanted to relax with action movie and this one was easy going and action start to finish. I soon became engrossed in the image on my iPlayer. Who needs a big screen anyway.

a good martial arts / action movie

"Falcon Rising" is good film, that makes excellent use of the talents of Michal Jai White. He's a martial arts master, and a decent actor, and this movie provides him with space to demonstrates his skills.

Plot: an ex-soldier is suffering from mental health problems, and is suicidal. He finds out his sister has been beaten up and left for dead, so he gets involved in tracking down the culprits ... Basic stuff!

But the acting and superb fight scenes lift this movie to a higher level. It's the first installment of a film series.

I bought this on German Blu-ray (as it's not been released in the UK in HD). It's easy to opt for English language, ad it plays on UK Blu-ray machines. The picture and sound quality are excellent. There are a few extras (a 'making of').

Falcon takes flight!

Very good movie in this genre. Realistic plot, good writing and acting. Unpretentious. You can watch some movies and from the offset you will guess and maybe correct on certain aspects. You'll find the film much more enjoyable by not second guessing characters but could of done more with the main villains here given Jai White's genuine skill.

P. S If you don't know the name, the immediately recognisable Lateef Crowder is a bonus addition again showcasing his skill.
