Extended Cut... ruins the film

What used to be one of my favourite films and a film I'd come back too time and time again when feeling low or just wanting an easy watch and great music... RUINED by the edited FOX version, should have left all the extras on the cutting room floor, made a great indie flick a complete dud!

How come I'd never heard of this? Oh yeah, the nineties man, I seem to have blanked it out of my mind but this movie... well what can I say. Believable characters woven into a perfect story by some fine actors like Liv Tyler and Renee Zellwegger and Debi Mazar as Jane.

The acting was great, the setting beautiful and for all I felt like Deb at the time (except I was 35 and not a teen at all) it doesn't hurt to watch it again, in fact it's life affirming so as Lukas says, don't let the man get you down.

Enjoy it like I did folks...it's Perfect.

Good soundtrack

I liked the Gwar cameo and the first 30 minutes but I soon realised that the characters are incredibly passive and don't actually do anything about saving the record store. The main owner just decides to sell the store to the manager out of nowhere and the film could honestly be cut down to 5 minutes. The characters are mostly unlikeable too. I wanted to enjoy a fun, free ride of a movie but all I got was "look at how quirky this record store is". Hard pass.

Classic 90's

Loved this when I was young, I was worried I might not any more as I ahve found with a lot of films from my youth, but its great.

The charectors are really belivable if you were raised in the 90's. The story is simple its more of the enjoyment of watching the chrectors in there little mini adventures

Great soundtrack, great movie. I've watched it a lot of times and enjoy it every time. I'll keep coming back to it, great cast.

I Must have Missed This First Time Around

I do like films like this. And I have worked in a record store before, so I know what it's all about. Craziness and obsession. I had my areas of expertise and if some middle-aged woman came in wanting to buy something for her 18-year-old son, but didn't have clue? Paydirt!
Very enjoyable and highly recommended, but only if you're in the mood for it.

90's nostalgia at it's best, the pouty delicate beauty, the vamp, the stoner, the thoughtful handsome one, the outcast and the kook stereotyping only this era could pull off, if you are new to the film you will have take this teen classic for all it's campness, but it definitley brings back fond memories for me.

A must watch / must own for me

Epic fun with a great cast of characters. The music is brilliant and the way the story unfolds is a great watch. One of the people in the film is charged with banking the takings and ends up blowing it all away at gambling. Another is looking to ask out one of the girls before he leaves for college but the girl (Liv Tyler) is oblivious.
Enjoy watching it all unfold in this, i dare say 'cult classic' film
