Utter tripe! Avoid. Contains spoilers

My reaction having watched this was What was the point? Who writes this puerile rubbish? The script is full of holes and it never raises itself above that of a depressing B movie. Basically, a gang of feral teenage no-marks chance upon a couple who are out for a romantic weekend. The rest of the movie then consists of the couple either trying to escape or being tortured. There's nothing positive in the outcome. The bad guys win. It's not even a half decent or creative story. Parts of it is so improbable its laughable. If you're thinking of watching this then please don't. You must have something better to do with 90 minutes of your life.

Gripping British movie, very watchable and edge of seat drama from start to finish!

Really good British suspense/thriller in which a devoted couple go for a romantic weekend by a British lake, where he intends on proposing. However, it isn't long before their retreat to the beauty spot is shattered by a gang of young yobs, who provoke them, steal and vandalise their vehicle.

That is nothing compared to what awaits the couple, in this very well produced and thought provoking movie, which definitely has the ability to shock the viewer. There are some disturbing scenes and the ending is probably what one may expect but f you don't, you're in for a shock.

I didn't realise I had already seen this movie some time ago but it was worthy of another watch.
Recommend this really watchable movie 100%.

It is a well made film, following the footsteps of Straw Dogs or its yank heritage of Spit on Your Grave, The Hills Have Eyes, etc as far as production's concerned. The British yob culture [?!] and the inbred village nonsense always a nice touch in flicks of the genre. Acting wise this one is not too bad, coulda been much worse. But the odd plot-holes, and the occasional scenes that were only shot to conceal that it could've been made into a 60-minute short story, make the movie drag a bit and makes it lose focus in several scenes.

*****STOP READING IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT*********** SPOILER ALERT *********************

While focus is being lost here and here, the viewer is able to concentrate on the flaws and not-so-plausible damages that characters suffer, yet still they're up and running, some even getting better at it. Beside the rough looking edges, the makers made sure that nobody smokes in the film [OK, there's a joint looking thing being passed in a lonely scene for several seconds], and there's a lot to work on the make-ups that change back and forth within seconds; designer clothes are pristine after a chase-thru-the-mud scenario, not a drop of blood on garments, of course and we learn that in England we can burn down a bit of a forest, near a village using gasoline / diesel, not worrying about human flesh smell as there would not be anybody noticing it; the fire wouldn't get out of hand either as with no water at hand, few redneck kids can just put it out, no worries!

All in all, the film's good, really, if ya're into this kind of entertainment, check it out, we've seen worse over the years!

The film itself is well made, never boring and keeps you interested until the end.

CAREFUL - SPOILER AHEAD (my next comments may hint the end of the film, so you may want to stop reading here if you still have to watch it).

However, what makes this film very disturbing is the knowledge that the story could be true.
It is appalling that a bunch of youngsters could get away with several murders and be backed by their useless parents.
The message is that rotten apples can only generate other rotten apples. And you can't heal a rotten apple.

If you go down to these woods today, bears are least of your worries

Having done the hard bit namely persuading Kelly Reilly's character to spend a night in a tent with him, the easy bit would be to find a quiet corner of a proper campsite and fill your boots. No this bloke Steve drags her through the woods (abandoning their car in the middle of nowhere) to camp by this lake where it is quickly obvious the local hooligans are looking for trouble. Instead of beating a retreat like any sensible person, our couple stand their ground. If you can swallow all this naïve behaviour, then what ensues is a reasonable tale of terror hide and seek with a particularly sadistic ending.

An uncomfortable watch but well made and thought provoking.

To say I enjoyed this film would be a lie, it's not an easy watch. However it does exactly what they were setting out to do and that is to plant a very nasty horrible seed in your mind and get you thinking this could happen to anyone and how would i react (well i wont be buying a jeep cheroke for off roading that's for sure)...... Yes there are some plot holes and you're left thinking on a few occasions, why are they doing that, but overall a well made low budget horror. If you enjoy watching these types of films then this is a must see.
The end is something that left a very bitter taste in my mouth and I didn't see that coming............
