Phenomenal film adaptation of the first book, but we’re is part 2???
This is a great adaptation of the first book in the Dune epic saga. The cast and acting is first class. The special effects, cgi, costumes, make up and general cinematography is all magnificent. Hans Zimmer dose the sound track, what more could you want? The pacing is good and at two and a half hours we get most of all of Frank Herbert’s Dune, at least until half way through the first book. This is the only problem with the film. It ends half way through book one! I hope Denis Villeneuve shot all the stock footage for part two so we can get the final half next year. Compared with the earlier version by David Lynch, which runs at about 2 hours and 15 minutes, but covers all of book one, I much prefer the pacing of Denis’s new version. The new version is also more gritty / real and less camp than the Lynch version. If you have faith that WB will fast track part two asap, then I would recommend Denis Villeneuve’s film as one of the best Epic, science fiction films since the old Star War films (which copied a lot from Dune).

It's only half of the film, should clearly state part 1
It's a great film, didn't quite feel the emotion from the original in the characters and some parts I feel were important like the space guild, their importance and the folding of space which shows why the "spice must flow" instead of it being about the money which means money is power which isn't what the film story was about, have been left out. It shows about half of the original film which is fine but then is can't be miss represented as the film DUNE as its not.... its half a film.
