As most people who have purchased new DOCS will know...they can be pretty tough to break in! Now i am not saying this balm is a miracle cure but it has certainly softened up the leather on these newly bought Mary Jane DR Marten shoes. In particular around the stiff leather straps. The heel area still remains a force to be reckoned with though! But it is early days. I rubbed a small amount on the inside of the shoes and over the tongue and straps. and a good dollop on the outside ..then left them over night. I used my hands to dip in and out of the tub. [could have used the sponge but prefer to get a good feel of it] Tried them on this morning and have to say they are definitely a bit more supple.. Bottom line...wear them indoors for a couple of hours each day. Wear with thick socks...and dont give in...lots of other good advice but i am sure i will be preaching to the converted!
