As to wear and tear will let you know at a later date.
2 weeks later ,and through the heavy snow, all going well. Added a pair of insoles for heat and comfort in the cold spell.
12 weeks later. Have worn the shoes almost daily. Only comment to make is if going on a long walk, 2-3 miles, the soles of the shoes feel light in that you can feel any major bump walked on. The rigidity of the front has gone so the shoe has widened but still is comfortable for getting about. Polish frequently to maintain look of a dearer shoe.
26 weeks later. Wear and tear on the inside top back of the shoe. Shoe losing its rigidity and becoming very comfortable to wear but one needs to polish weekly to maintain its look.
24 months later the shoes have come to the end of their life. Padding inside worn, shape used and soles worn so every bump one can feel. But not bad for continual use so at 6p a day not bad value for getting around.
I started wearing them for work, (I work in a care home which, as you probably realise involves a lot of kneeling), and I alternated the pairs weekly. After about 6 weeks one pair split on the sole, so I had to return them. About 3 week later, the second pair split, so this pair also now has to be returned, 🙁 which is a shame because up to then they had been very comfortable.
If you're not doing a lot of kneeling, they'll probably be OK; if you are, well..
The shoes fit well and I can use my orthotic inserts in them. The price is very good, I have been purchasing and wearing more expensive shoes which are not lasting a year, I decided to get these "cheaper" shoes, if they last 6 months I will be happy 5 pairs will be the same price I paid for one expensive pair. I have sorted out the sharp edges and have put it down to bad luck. I will update this review in 6 months.
I've taken care of these shoes as much as I can, but the leather on the outside has started peeling off, and the bottoms of the shoes are now severely cracked and ungluing from the rest of the shoe. Do not buy.
