The producer of Independence Day: Resurgence brings you this spine-tingling descent into the supernatural. A grieving neuro-scientist creates a mind-altering serum that reconnects people to the other side. However it unknowingly attracts a more sinister being. This mind-bending horror stars Thomas Kretschmann (King Kong) Josh Stewart (Interstellar) and Bex Taylor-Klaus (TV's Scream).

one of the better horrors

To be honest it doesn't really have much to beat - some of the horrors especially the teen ones are monumentously awful. The reason I dropped a star was because of the messy beginning and the hopping back and forth which I hate in any film. Having said that if you bear with it the film does very much better - excellent in fact. I didn't in all honesty find any of it the slightest bit scarey and it was a bit predictable here and there but strangely that didn't spoil it for me. The acting and directing were slick and infinitely better than most horrors. The make up artists did a phenomenal job on the demon and the child actors as always were talented. The actors did gel and I will single out Bex Taylor-Klaus - I've not seen her before but she was fabulous in this. I really enjoyed this film, give it a go and you might too.

Underrated and deserving more praise

I respect it when a film uses imagination and actors instead of using bad cgi for monsters. It makes the viewing more worthwhile and rewarding. Just the same as letting a storyline build up, like Discarnate. I did not agree with others in this being a bad film. It took a while to start but it was worth the wait. The acting was good, some familiar faces that kept the film going during the build up. It did take me back to when creature features was something to look forward to on a Saturday night when not going out. Will be adding to my dvd collection if it is available on disc. The character of Violet was worth a months subscription for Prime alone.

Brilliant modern ghost/monster story!

Absolutely fantastic!
A riveting and convoluted plot, revealing secrets, visions, and monsters.
Great special effects (that don't overshadow the story), great acting (that is NOT mumbling, it is an accent), great set (atmospheric house and creepy landscape), and an all round great story.
Some jump-scares, a bit of gore, and lots of terrifying twists.
I really can't find a single flaw with this movie.

mumble mumble lots of bits in the dark

not sure what was going on. Discarnate soundtrack, undiscernible dialogue. Not subtitles so no clues that way either. According to other reviews it gets better but I couldn't stick it out....maybe when I'm feeling more patient another time...

A good horror

This was really good. The acting was great, the special effects were very good, and the story... well it's a horror who cares. Absolutely worth a watch!

One of the worst films I've ever seen, right up there with battlefield earth 0/10
Claustrophobic, slow, terrible audio, and a ridiculous storyline.

Worth a watch - but wait a while you'll probably get it at a cheaper price as it's not that good....
