Worth a watch for Van Damme fans

No a bad film, not a great film. It passes the time and does what a film is suppossed to do; entertain.
Not the best from Van Damme but good enough to keep his friends happy. Plenty of action, language and violence as JCVD rescues two young children from a life working for the local drug king pin.
One of these kids being his own drug dealer as he reuires certain medication to help the headaches and PTSD he suffers after the Gulf War.
If a JCVD fan then you will not be dissapointed, if you like action films you may enjoy this. And if it is still on offer at £1.99 then it's definitely worth it.

About teens mixed up with Mexican drug cartels. J C Van Damme is hardly in it, and when he is, he shuffles around in silence (due to his characters throat injury) wheezing and looking like he needs a laxative. Anyone expecting some high kicks will see JCVD's repertoire reduced to grabbing someone's gun off them occasionally. It's all 'Hey, Gringo! You got da grande cajones!", face tattoos and angry men in vests. Tip for the director; don't make your cameraman drink 5 espressos before filming.

Yet another cholo/latino typecast movie
Verified purchase
Bad script that never distances from the typical typecast of race in this case latinos and cholos, always causing mayhem in the city by extorting people at all levels, of course, all whiteys are awesome and law abiding and truthful (you know, like trump).

It is sad this year and age we are still letting studios accept this kind of narrative.

Terrible

Even if I have always been a Van Damme fan there really isn't anything good to say about this film at all. A mix between a children's film and a failed attempt at a gangster/hero film, glued together with mainly awful acting, very long and very boring sequences, and a few fairly poor action scenes.

Gritty gang movie, not a Van Damme movie
Verified purchase
Just a heads up for anyone expecting any high kicking action, Van Damme may well be in this film, but only in a minor way. Don't get me wrong, he gets a lot of screen time but the story centres on a young boy working for a drug gang who decides to try to get his younger brother out of the life.

excellent

Terrific acting by Van damme, yes he looks old, so what, aging gracefully in today's botox and plastic surgery dominated world shows bravery. Like a good red wine tastes better with age. Best most believable film action wise in ages, I will be checking out some of his more recent film efforts.
gritty realistic eminently watchable.
