Cool Assassin Movie for Action Fans
Verified purchase
This Korean movie is entertaining with a slow burning start whereby a contract assassin is offered to take on one last job to fulfill his wish of retirement in paradise.
The plot is straight forward by being ordered to find and save a kidnapped young girl.
The film tracks the character across Japan, Korea and Thailand in the search of the kidnappers.
Expect some great action scenes and martial arts sequences similar to “The Raid” in close quarters combat.
Additional characters are added as the contract killer encounters many obstacles in his way.
Similar to the excellent “Man from Nowhere” Korean film 5 star btw this has less emotional involvement but nevertheless will keep you entertained throughout.
A happy ending? Watch and find out

Excellent actioner with great characters. Retiring assassin does one last job which puts him on a collision course with his doom while trying to save the daughter he never knew he had.

The start reminded me of the opening to Leon and the film is heavily influenced by the likes of Taken and works very well. My only complaint is the use of momentary increases in film speed to make many of the fight scenes more powerful. It's effective but I've never been a fan of that style. This doesn't detract too much overall though and this is still a well- made actioner with a solid production.

Worth the watch.

5.6/10 IMB would be appropriate

Quite interesting cinematographically, but a bit too familiar in terms of plot. Hitman wants to retire, goes for one last hit, predictable complications ensue, and much blood is shed. Nice subplot about a former love and daughter in Thailand, but, again ... Not sure it's worth bothering, though there also are far, far, far worse examples of the genre.

Decent action movie

Good fight scenes and though pretty formula had a few novel aspects, worth a watch if you don't mind subtitles though there was some sections in English as well. Pretty gritty and to the point.

Slow to start, but once it kicks off it is relentless. Possibly the best film since train to busan. Excellent performances. Little ott in places but yes. Excellent. Harsh.

Love it.

A simple enough plot, all action, and all the better for it. I’m 100% certain that I will rewatch this within the week, and multiple times thereafter.

Has elements of Man of Fire just an Asian variant of the film. All the cast played great roles and if you like an action packed movie, not to cheesy levels like a lot of Hollywood films of the sort this is great viewing.
