In a city where justice is an illusion, only the delusional fight back. Arthur Poppington (Woody Harrelson) is a self-proclaimed superhero known as "Defendor". Hilarious movie, deserving of a '7.5, out of 10' rating.

Looking at the other reviews,I think prospective buyers may be a little confused as to what category this film actually falls into. The cover implies something more light hearted than what it is.The plot is basically about a man with mental health problems who believes he can right the worlds wrongs, encapsulated in the form of a gangster he knows as 'Captain Industry'by adopting the guise guise of self created superhero called 'Defendor'. Woody Harrelson is superb in the lead role and doesn't fall into the trap of becoming schmaltsy, indeed his relationship with a prostitute doesn't either. It's a well written, well acted film, and not really anything to do with comic book superheroes.
Would I recommend it?..Yes!,absolutely.

And that's just Woody Harrelson! :p
A lovely little film, well worth watching - don't expect super-hero biff pow bang. Think a quiet treatise on a mentally-unstable but good-natured guy trying to right a wrong while running around with a weird assortment of home-made non-lethal weapons.
Oh and the young acid-tongued hooker who befriends him.
Quietly loved this film.

Interesting and memorable. Woody is wonderful.

Excellent. A balancing act between simple fury at crime and violent vigillantism, with an overriding question about which is sane.

Compelling viewing of a fresh take on the 'superhero' genre

This is a refreshing take on a genre that is saturated by Marvel. It is an intriguing film that compels you to watch it out of curiosity as to what is going to happen the protagonists of Arthur Poppington and Angel (A.K.A Kat). I would not give it a 5 but I would say it's a thoroughly enjoyable movie and Woody Harrelson plays the character incredibly well and the story-line is well though out and administered throughout the movie.

If You Want Cheesy, You Got It!

Not one of Woody Harrelsons better movies. All the cheese and corn you could want in a movie is here! A movie not worth the paper the script was written on!
