I am mixed race (proudly white and african) and love the Christmas and romance movies which are lets face it usually made up of an almost entirely white group of actors. Makes no difference to me as long as the movies are good, but I think it's fair to say they are a mixed bag. Why mention it then?... Because I think it is worth saying the it rare to get a Christmas or romance movie where almost the entire cast is made up of black actors and that is why I think they always seem to be really good. It's because black actors fight for these fewer roles and the casting director then gets a larger selection of talented actors to choose from which is why they always seem so good. That coupled with the fact that when actually landing a role they then give it their all. Where as so many films in this genre have white actors that the remaining pool of talent, after the casting crew have had there pick, is perhaps less experienced, and maybe viewing it as an easy ride in a few cases before going for something in the bigger leagues. Dunno, just putting it out there.
Anyway I loved Tatyana Ali in this, a very natural and talented young actress with plenty of scope to move on to better things. She is supported by a wealth of experienced veterans such as Ernie Hudson, Della Reese and my favourite personal Bill Cobbs.
What I loved about this film was the mystery about whom the card writer was (I won't elaborate or I'll spoil it) it could have been one of four young actors all of whom were a feast for my feminine eye! It kept me guessing until given away, with what I thought was a bit of a disappointment. From that point on it was interesting but not as good as the first half.
Having said all that it is well worth the watch and I heartily recommend it.

The Lake House Christmas edition
Is this a rip-off of the movie The Lakehouse? Yes. It's basically The Lake House Christmas Edition.
Is it still a good movie? yes it is.!
Definitely above average for a Chistmas movie.
Peter Sullivan is fast becoming my favourite Christmas movie directors!
