Perhaps after listening to the depressing news reports delivered daily you need a smile or two in yer' life, give this a go....
With Christmas approaching we find Brad (Will Ferrell) and Dusty (Mark Wahlberg) watching their co-daughter Megan announce on-stage that she has become fed-up with having to travel from house to house at events like Christmas in order to celebrate, so the
reluctant friends decide to hold Christmas together as one family.....seems like a good idea ?......however a complication, both Brad and Dusty's fathers have decided to join the festivities.......played by Mel Gibson (Dusty's Dad) and John Lithgow (Brad's Dad)
Chaos and competition obviously follows...
The film has many laugh-out-loud moments along the way, must admit i often find sequels a let-down....for myself, not in this case..

A top Xmas movie

I for one get fed up with the same Xmas movies year by year, yes some are classics and will always be watched but Daddy’s Home 2 makes a refreshing change from the usual Xmas fare

Will Ferrell & Mark Wahlberg are brilliant and their chemistry with each other is hilarious (this is their 3rd film together) the casting of Mel Gibson and John Lithgow as their fathers is pretty genius and totally believable, I thought this was a definite improvement on the first film plus it’s set at Christmas which gives it annual repeat viewing for years to come, lots of laughs and plenty of heart

A kid using a gun?!
Verified purchase
I was disgusted by the idea that a kid was being encouraged by her grandpa and father to shoot a turkey and the mother was standing at the back in agony. I'm sorry but this was neither funny nor cute. And even though the little girl missed the turkey, she shot her grandpa accidentally and when she saw that her grandpa was hurt she had that vile look on her face and went after the poor, innocent creature?! Please. Kids shooting with a gun to kill? You could have done better.

I want to also mention that repeating the same jokes as the first film in a different setting it's not writing comedy. It's rerunning the same thing.

Not too bad

It's okay, worth a watch. Though a big drop in standard for Will Ferrell and a disappointment compared to the previous installment. Decent, easy to watch festive number for all the family I suppose, though I found the 'do they know it's christmas' sing-along at the end a bit daft and cringeworthy. Been spending lots of money (£4 average rental just to watch a movie once adds up fast) on lots of poor quality films lately, it is a serial rip-off and getting so bad I'm giving up watching boring films and turning to reading more.

Brilliant Christmas Comedy

Loved Daddy's Home so was excited to see Daddy's Home 2. Did not disappoint at all. Laughed hard throughout. Love Mark Whalberg and Will Ferrell together but an added bonus with Mel Gibson and John Lithgow to add to the chemistry.

Renting movies.
Verified purchase
I wanted to watch a movie that was pretty new and as I’ve seen the first ‘Daddy’s Home’, I choose ‘Daddy’s Home 2’. I found it very funny just like the first one. But more importantly, it was easy to rent for the night and at a reasonable rate too.

I have found that for some reason I would still have to rent movies that is very old, in which case I avoid doing so ie Sherlock Holmes 2. That film came out around 2012 or 2013. On the whole a good experience.

Surprisingly good

My wife watched first film, got me into it, so bought the sequel, I'm not a Ferrell fan usually, but this worked well.
