Well Crafted Christmas Tale

Loved the snowball fights and the fact that all the supporting cast appeared to be Brits!

I would comment that before I retired I had seen almost everything in hotels around the world except staff being fired in public. I would be surprised if hotel management would allocate a room that had a VIP guest before it had. been handed back and serviced. (In SFO or LAX I was on a floor with about a dozen rooms - together - that a building crew was in repairing the damage).

Of all the Christmas movies I have watched this season this is my favourite.

Typical churn

I don't like movies that are so inaccurate with functional aspects such as the job of a hotel room service attendant, this isn't a film portraying a fairy tale land, no major hotel would have staff wondering in by the main guest entrance and reception lobby, housekeeping staff would not be given work details by anyone standing behind the reception desk and they would not be using guest lifts either. Schamltzy rubbish and like many others not very well done.

This is an outstanding Children’s video for all ages.

This is a wonderful ‘Maid from Manhattan’, our heroine takes on the task of disciplining a young princess, who is full of the tricks of ‘Jennings at School’, in doing so she wins the hand of the Princess’s father – the King. Other great films in this class are: ‘My Christmas Dream’, ‘Christmas at the Palace’. ‘The Prince & Me4: The Elephant Adventure’ – this contains violence and romance combined - think ‘The King & I’ without the governess, the royal children, singing and dancing!!! But with the civil war and cruelty to individuals.

Downton Abbey meets Maid in Manhattan - Brilliant!

Loved this romantic movie. I romance movie you can actually watch with younger members of the family as there is no sex and swearing. Crown for Christmas is Downton Abbey meets Maid in Manhattan. Was sucked into the story and almost shed a tear at the end. Highly recommend this to get you in the mood for Christmas.

Sweet family Christmas film

Lovely fairy tale film. Disagree with other reviewer who said this is not set in some fairy tale land. It is all a fairy tale which is what I loved about it. Yes it starts in 'real' New York but it is just a fictional as the rest of the film. It is sweet but not too sweet which is not easy to do. Watch it and judge for yourself. Did not buy on DVD so can not commentate on that aspect but my blu ray player is multi region (for DVD's) so not really a problem for me.

Hallmark Christmas Movie

From a Brooklyn maid to royal governess in this sweet Christmas romance ideal for the winter season.
It's a Hallmark movie, it'll leave you with a happy sigh and a twinkle of Christmas joy. Grab the chocolates and a blanket and enjoy this Christmasy story. Perfect back drop to card writing, tree decorating or just enjoy it.

Decent 'fairy tale' escapism
Verified purchase
Watched this and was pleasantly surprised. Yes, it did have the 'ordinary girl meets royalty' plus 'Christmas at a palace' elements - very much an 'other world' experience for most of us. This was well acted and played with restraint (for the most part), and as with every good fairy tale had a happy ending.

The subtitles worked well. Watched on Prime, so no issues with DVD regions unlike some other reviewers.

Fairytale at Christmas
Verified purchase
Complete with 2 wicked witches a fairy godmother, a handsome prince (on a horse), (wannabe) stepmother and poor girl from the wrong side of the tracks.

Watch it with young kids.
Excuse the number of time they say "Your Highness" rather than "Your Majesty" - it's a fairy tale!
