Half Good/Half Not So Good

The first half was decent for the most part, but then it started getting a bit silly. It's like the director lost his grip and it didn't really hold together too well. One of those movies that could have been much better, but wasn't.
For one thing, it took itself too seriously, when it would have been OK to play it for a few laughs. The government angle was underplayed and there were too many loose ends for it to be making any kind of political statement, and it just wandered off. Not bad for an evening's entertainment though, if you're going to be chugging beers and talking a lot, but otherwise a bit unsubstantial. If I was thirteen I would've thought it was excellent, but I ain't and it wasn't.

It's worth a watch if you are a fan of the traditional Horror genre

It's good. Rotten tomatoes gave it a surprisingly good review so I gave it a watch and I wasn't upset. Yeah there are aspects and characters that could be acted better (there often are in these stories) but the story is fairly original and the premise solid. The effects are mostly believable, they've not over stretched themselves but kept it simple so that works in their favour.

I don't know what kind of thing that the people who wrote "it's rubbish" were hoping for but I think it's a long way from rubbish. It's a solid, small town horror with a few surprises in there as a bonus.

Good fun

Well crafted script, which always just stayed clear off turning into a cliche. Some moments of real suspense, good fun type stuff.

Very good

I wasn't expecting too much, this being a remake of the Romero film, but it is a very good action-horror-thriller that is a good watch if you like the genre. It does have a video game feel plot wise, like a survival horror, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Surprised me

For this type of film, it was an absolute cracker. Brilliantly acted, and the storyline, although a bit bonkers, didn't detract from what was an edge of the seat ride.

It's Okay!

I haven't seen the original but always meant to. However, this was on prime and I was in the mood for something of 'The Crazies' nature so give it a go. Like most horror films of today it is a little bit predictable and runs along in the normal, unimaginative, episodic way, whereas we get the build up to a shock, the shock/horror happens then we calm down again before the next build up. However, this film does have its genuine 'jump out your chair' moments and is quite entertainingly frightening'.

Ignoring holes in plot and character psych essential

Just an Ok film
Why do the makers of these kind of films always have seriously traumatised characters all if a sudden start acting as if nothing has really happened at all?.....split up and casually go about thier business ? Idly sitting in a deserted cafe alone looking bored?
Yeah you know something is about to happen.......
A cheap, transparent trick that is exploited too many times. Especially in this film
However, if that doesn't bother you, it's a good way to kill a couple of hours.

A remake.... a good one

A solid script and believable characters add to this polished remake.
The plot, eerily accurate to a real life poisoning in America makes it more gripping to watch.
Not many films are to this quality .... enjoy.
