Thoroughly enjoyed happy escape!

Really good film. Much needed an enjoyable watch to escape into; I've bad covid, life's been bleak & this did the job, cheering me up & allowed me to escape into a lovely easy and wonderful film to watch. Impressed by Isla's acting too, associating her with a role in the old Home & Away soap, didn't have high expectations. But her acting talent & role suitability far exceeded expectations! Felt happier & warm after watching. Also, a massive fan of all the wonderful Sophia Kingsley books, so a film based on, a win-win! My only disappointment, I can't find any other film adaptations of her work. Especially as they'd make great watching! Thanks for the enjoyment. I'd recommend you watch especially if your in need of some escapism, something light and happy! RECOMMEND!!

If I hadn’t paid for it, I wouldn’t have finished watching it ! I can’t believe how far from the book this story was ! The actors seemed ok (the main character was really nice) but the way they made it ... it was meant to be in London, not New York ! Luke had nothing to do with newspaper she worked for , I didn’t like how they mixed it all up. Overall I’m glad I didn’t get it on dvd and only watched once - never again! Giving it 2 stars as the actors were good and some moments funny , very far from the book though.

Brilliant and unusual movie about the type of (surprisingly common) person who can only enjoy shopping and not much else!
