I tend to prefer well ventilated shoes such as trail running shoes with mesh uppers, but I needed something for office wear so this seemed to fit the bill. However this design didn't quite hit the spot in a couple of ways.
Firstly there isn't any padding around the ankles, so the initial feeling is more like wearing standard oxfords than wearing something more comfortable.
Secondly they are fairly narrow, and because the uppers are a sort of mesh they take the shape of the foot, which in my case meant that they bulge at the edges and the shape of my toes is visible near the ends despite there being plenty of space lengthwise.
And then that mesh... It has all the disadvantages of mesh (water permeability, gets dirty easily, doesn't keep you warm) without the main advantage - it's just not breathable.
With good mesh trainers I can feel air moving around my toes as I walk, at least in the first couple of months of use. These just felt too snug, verging on uncomfortable.
Shame, because they look great!
I am disappointed.
