In a sleepy southern town, a young girl disappears - but all hopes of finding her alive are soon shattered by the discovery of a body in the river. But the end of the search is just the beginning of a waking nightmare. Traffic lights blink an eerie warning, a ghostly visage prowls in the streets, and graves erupt from the local cemetery in an implacable march of terror.

Respect it but didn't enjoy it

Well I like horrors but I didn't like this one. It was silly, no real story, I don't think it ever explained as to why these things were happening. It felt like an excuse just for a mild bit of gore.

I normally like movies that don't paint by numbers but this just felt painting for no reason. So I was just bored after half way when I realised nothing different was going to happen.

Still going to give it 3 stars as it was well acted and produced, and it wasn't a total paint by numbers movie.

Still undecided.....

I can't say either way if this is a good film or not, there were parts of it I enjoyed and others I thought were too far fetched and just silly. Evelyn's screeching was so annoying and Belinda the airhead well I just didn't get what was going on with her and the Redfield family....Why was she always around there house? It was just a bit weird I thought! I wasn't too sure if the visions Nathan was having were to do with a tumour or just his crimes coming back to haunt him, that really wasn't made that clear. Was it ever explained why he killed Margaret? Also I was slightly confused when he did the flashback, when we saw her leave on her bicycle to go to meet Walter she was wearing dungarees but in the flashback she was wearing a floral dress....did I miss something here? I just thought it a little odd that's all and also at the end when the officer asks Sheriff Hale how his daughter is, he never asks about Ben Redfield.....it wasn't mentioned what happened to him.

I just felt things could have been explained a bit better rather than being left in the dark! Like I said in the headline.......Undecided!!!

some well known actors, some special effect, yet abysmal film
Verified purchase
The following actors are what drew me to watch this film;

Christopher Lloyd - from Back to the Future and many others
Josh Stewart - Criminal minds, third watch the Punisher and others
Frank Whaley - Pulp Fiction, Crazy Eights, Hustlers and more

Sadly, they were not in it enough to offer much help to the film, the film is pretty terrible...

Acting - from all except the above and a mention goes out to Robbie Kay, was soooo bad, just really really bad
Script - nice idea, poorly executed
Set/costumes / shooting - oh so very bad, I spent hte first 20 minutes wanting to reach in and fix the poorly pinned wig on the ham that played the granny role.

I do not reccomend this film other than as a testimoney as to what not to do.

Granny loses her marbles
Verified purchase
Got about 25 minutes in. I would rather jump off a bridge with my bicycle than listen to granny screeching any more. Tries hard, but all very predictable. The acting is a bit stiff - geddit - and the storyline is not that logical. I simply couldn't bring myself to care about anyone in the story. Now, that's horrific.

Not put together well

It's such a shame when a horror movie just misses the mark. This one had everything going for it. Deep South, love it, some very good make up and special effects that were just right - not too much as is the fault of some films. It was the diabolical acting that ruined it. Really, every actor was abysmal - even the famous ones - I think the director must have played hookey. Take a look to see if you like it, but only if you have nothing better to do...no actually don't bother.

Unfolds like an episode of Columbo
Verified purchase
I really liked this film. The story unfolds Columbo style. You know who dunnit but it's fun watching the perpetrator squirm. Some scary moments and some that should be scary but made me giggle. I could have done with the irritating girl (Belinda) being a bit less of a caracature but her over exaggerated daft airhead balances the darker characters.

strange little film with some bad acting and lots of confused histrionics but an odd atmosphere...
Verified purchase
At first i found it pretty terrible - all the actors seemed to have almost comedy voices and everybody was over-acting like an Anne Of Green Gables school play or something. The special effects are kinda '80s teen movie style (lo-fi budget green face stuff and lots of floating....) and the soundtrack is too (nothing wrong with that!). But despite all the budget stuff there's a pervasive offbeat atmosphere that sucks you in....

Good old fashioned horror
Verified purchase
I enjoyed this. I felt a wee bit confused at first. When the first killing happens it was misleading which is great. Something different. My only gripe is the Grandma. Brilliant actress but her screaming and moaning got tiresome. The personality type she was she would have been more stoic I feel. Determined as well. I just think her constant crying was too much. It made me irritated not feeling compassion which is unusual for me. Anyway if you want a good old fashioned horror with a twist then this is for you Very well done!
