If you’re a Richie McCaw can you will like it

You would have to be a die hard Richie fan to enjoy this I think. Fortunately I am.

The movie covers much of Richie’s rather well known back ground and if you have read his biography then the stories will be familiar. Nevertheless this takes the story on 4 more years and has some nice clips of his home life, rugby and professional commitments as well.

I think the ending could be more momentous but, a bit like choosing to watch Titanic, you know how the story ends...

I would recommend this to Richie McCaw fans. I’m not sure it would have mass appeal to rugby fans in general.

fast-paced in that like The Lions documentaries

Well made, fast-paced in that like The Lions documentaries, its over before you know it, but great depth. Had been really hoping this would become available in the U.K. As a bok fan by religion and upbringing and a home nations fan, I can't help but be impressed by the ABs, and McCaw has been an instrumental chapter in their story. It reflects well on him and those around him, is superbly edited and gripping to watch. If you like what drives people, sports psychology and performing under pressure; you will watch this more than once!

This was so well made, lots of access to Richie and his comments and life mark him out as being a special man, All Blacks aside. But of course he was probably the Greatest All Black ever. His humility and gentleness which he switches off on the pitch and goes all out was a joy to watch. I'm gonna buy the dvd this is a keeper.

Inspirational to say the least.

Historically the best leaders in the world are often people who don't want leadership responsibilities but have leadership thrust upon them. This is a classic example of leadership through examples. Over the past 10 years The All Blacks have been the best team in world by far - Richie McCaw made them Great!

GAB and GOAT

Young New Zealander friend suggested I watch this film as I had expressed my admiration for Richie McCaw and I thoroughly enjoyed the profile of the man. Not my normal genre of film but a well crafted insight to this inspirational sportsman who became a GAB and GOAT?
Watch this film!!!!!

Inspirational , motivational documentary on one of the greatest sportsman .

Wow what can I say ? This man has always been a great inspiration to many but he superseded himself with this documentary . He is quiet spoken but on the pitch he is a true leader and plays with great passion and vigour. In his career he has dug deeper than most and that’s why many hold him in such high regard . He is the GOAT .

Good insight from an athletic perspective, but some filmography issues

In terms of gaining an insight into how athlete's operate in high performance sport, this is a great insight. The viewer learns about McCaw's mentality and why he becomes a great All Black. While McCaw doesn't come across as the most colourful of characters, that in and of itself is part of the beauty of this piece. He really comes across as an ordinary guy. Some of the scenes (e.g., remakes of childhood scenes) took away from the movie from a filmography perspective, but as someone looking for an insight into high performance sport, I was really impressed.
