Ahhhhh... the memories....

I watched this when it came out in Carlisle cinema whilst we were camping on Hadrian’s Wall. That was yonks ago. It was hard to leave the comforting warmth of the cinema and then drive out in the dark and rain back to our tent.

This year, for the first time, we went abroad to Kephalonia on our holiday with our two children. There was no tent. There was was immense warmth. It was beautiful. I wanted to relive it when we came home. So I did.

(Now I want to learn the Mandolin). (:

Above average chick flick weepie

Nicolas Cage is the reluctant Italian Soldier who is part of the occupying force on Kefalonia. He falls in love with a local Greek girl, and there the problems start. A good story, bit of a weepie, but with some funny bits chucked in. John Hurt is great as the grumpy old git doctor.

This is an easy to watch

This is an easy to watch, rather charming film - with a good cast. For some reason it isn't a 'great' for me though. Perhaps this is because i read the book first and imagined the characters slightly differently. This makes for a good family film with older kids (11 years +) which is always a bonus

This is my second copy of this film, I have one at home and also one in the Mobile home
Its a good old Cheer you up film and I love it
I have also given it to girlfriends for Christmas and Birthday presents
All you need is a bottle of chilled rosy wine and some houmous and tomatoes and celery, turn the film on and you think you are back on your Greek holidays...
