Chef Adam Jones (Bradley Cooper). The former enfant terrible of the Paris restaurant scene had earned two Michelin stars and only cared about the thrill of creating explosions of taste. To land his own kitchen and that third elusive star though, Jones will need to get the best of the best on his side, including the beautiful Helene (Sienna Miller).

Lots of shouting and swearing in a professional kitchen does not make a comedy

I watched this film because I liked Bradley in American Sniper, but this doesn't make the grade.

Some interesting scenes in the kitchen show some of the intensity of working in a professional kitchen, but this is not a "Comedy" as billed.

The film tries to do cover too much ground, and so a lot of things are skipped over.
The "Seven Samurai" recruitment part (as explained in the additional material) is OK, but again, none of the characters have their past developed to any signficant degree.

[[ASIN:B00LBJRGW4 Chef]] from 2014 does a much better job of combining cooking and comedy.

A proper film. Well written. Well Cast, enough drama and comedy, without being goofy.

Witty. Sharp. Funny.
Entertaining without being hard to follow or too taxing.
But not lightweight, not a romcom, not tacky or corny or cliche.
It’s well written, cast, directed, funny, serious and wonderfully enticing when it comes to the love of food.

This was a great little film purportedly following the ups and downs of a celebrated chef making a comeback after having gone off the rails, subjecting himself to opening oysters for 3 years as penance. How accurate this is as a portrait of life in a professional Michelin starred kitchen I don't know but great to see Marcus Wareing getting a credit for coming up with the dishes on show, they do look fab. Good fun.

A must see for food fans

Really good film about the pressures and victories in the face pace world of fine dining cuisine and shows how much chefs put into their skill set and trade. Acting is fab and some big names in there too. Me and my husband really enjoyed it.

Bradley was good as always. As were the assembly cast. The movie is about a Michelin starred chef and his new restaurant and the pressure of that industry and running a restaurant if that standard.

Just weak ,overall, where's the look of sleep deprived, the burns on the arms. You don't get a third star on 1 visit.what sort of chef would not taste everything going out to a table of potential inspectors.
