A cheap, cheesy & predictable TV movie but ok if u don’t like to think too hard over Christmas.

Well it’s very formulaic, predictable and unimaginative but looking at the ratings here, I suppose this must be just my opinion as other Amazon reviewers obviously prefer their Christmas movies this way. The anticipated magical, fantasy element is minimal and should have been made far more of. It’s certainly not up-there with other Christmas films like the re-make of ‘Miracle on 34th Street’, or ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ (which do genuinely deserve their status and kind of put the ratings into the correct perspective) but it’s always nice to watch a film that doesn’t have guns, explosions and bad language. Safe to watch with your granny, the kids and the dog.

Enjoyable film for romance fans

This is a very typical made for TV mills and boon type romance. If you like those this is for you. I am not a particular fan but I just wanted an easy movie to watch and this one seemed to fit the bill.
I liked the partnership of Jessy Schram and Luke MacFarlane they seemed to have fun together. I didn't like the story line of them being directors. It was a bit slow and laborious and the film took ages to warm up and get to the nitty gritty.
I loved Yvonne Chapman, and David Lewis in support and I wish they'd been given bigger roles.
Another thing I liked, and you don't see often, was the way Jessy ate a lot and took massive bites out of everything (it reminded me of me!) normally these skinny actresses just pick at a lettuce leaf and I find that annoyingly abnormal. It's refreshing to see an actress who at least looks like she's got an appetite.
Another lovely thing was the amount of dogs, lots of them, and the actors looked like they were having a lot of fun filming with them.
Overall a nice film and one I enjoyed watching - even though I prefer a good monster movie or horror.

Poor Background, Poor Ending
Verified purchase
Ad agency work, like romances in TV jobs, are hardly the most appropriate settings for romance.
In addition, the pathetic reactions of the leading actor when he thought he couldn't get what he wanted near the end, could hardly induce empathy. Sending the girl a nasty text just after he thought she'd got engaged is hardly empathy inspiring, especially as she'd made her commitment quite clear. I watched it because of all the 5 star reviews. Must need to be more careful in future.

Thank god I didn't pay for it!

So cheesy with everyone with their perfect tooth tiptoeing around each other.
A bit yucky. Predictable. Good acting though.
This is like those afternoon movies on channel 5. Mediocre.
