I have owned about 6 pairs of Berghaus Ortler trousers in the last 4 years as I have found them to be the most comfortable walking trousers that I have ever owned. So much so that I wear them virtually all the time and if my wife would let me away with it I would wear them on evening's out. Despite my weight fluctuating by about 6/7 pound depending on how much walking I am doing even at my heaviest the 36 in waist trousers were still a perfect fit.
So that's Ortler 1.0, so what about Ortler 2.0 - well these are utter garbage and I could only keep them buttoned if I didn't breath or move for the rest of the day. Gone is the quality material, the elasticated waist and so much material has been cut from the pockets that they wouldn't hold my compass. The stitching is now about the same quality as Primark kids pants.
What is it with designers (and bean counters) who amend/cheapen every quality item in the pursuit of further profits with absolutely no thought for repeat customers. I had the same experience with the move from Berghaus Tech Tee 1.0 to 2.0. and as a result moved to a rival brand. It's the same for trousers now unless I can find Ortler 1.0 somewhere else.
Massively disappointed!!!
