Having a Flynn!

A beautiful movie with heart-breaking and heartwarming moments in equal measure. A very different role for Mr De Niro as the hopeless writer down on his luck who always believes that his latest work is going to be a classic. The movie explores the relationship between a young man and his estranged (read non-existent) father. At first the relationship is fraught and antagonistic, but as the movie proceeds, they grow closer. It's never an easy relationship as they both have to work on their faults and weaknesses but the ending offers a glimmer of hope.

Paul who??

Not for me. How anyone could rate Paul Dano I have no idea. Wishy-washy and irritating beyond belief. And what a depressing film!

Not bad, a decent story and decent acting

Not a masterpiece in my view, neinther for the screeplay nor for the way the film has been made and acted. Sometimes it goes deep but in general it lacks a bit of deepth. Still, with a bit of everything, it is definitely worth seeing
