Beetlejuice

The gags are witty, SFX amazing in this surreal, cartoon-like comedy. A couple move to the country, are killed in an accident and return to their home as ghosts. Trying to remove the obnoxious new owners, they call on the services of a demented but hilarious bioexorcist, Beetlejuice.

Just a classic film. Always liked the waiting room scenes.
Shame gena Davies wasn’t taken as a serious Hollywood actress. But she seems to making a some what comeback as of late.

Top film - Even better than I remember

I love this film and have owned it on Video and DVD back in the day but hadn't watched it in years before this Amazon Video purchase. For me this is Michael Keaton's best performance by far. Casting was great and I can't imagine anyone else in any of the roles. This along with the great directing and score makes this one of my favourite movies.

I won't go into the plot as it has been covered pretty well by other reviewers but I do have to mention that the scene with everyone dancing around the table still cracks me up now :)

Get it, watch it, love it

Michael Keaton is extraordinary! Wonderful actor!

One of my favourite films - I can imagine that the writers, and everyone else, had a lot of fun making it.

WEIRD & WHACKY

Clever entertainment that, despite its lack of a story or much of a plot, never fails to amuse with its sheer absurdity.

Reversing the usual ghost story formula of a house being haunted by the dead but this time by the living. The visuals are arresting and imaginative and the performances, especially from Michael KEATON, are perfectly at ease with the weirdness of the entire project - out of kilter as it is with everyday reality.

Fun film that stands the test of time

This was one of my favorite films as a young teen. I just watched it for the first time in 20 years, and I am happy to report I still loved it. For a film about ghosts and hauntings, it's delightfully lighthearted and fun. The plot is clever and the pace is good. The special effects are decent for the pre-CGI era, and Catherine O'Hara and Winona Rider's performances are excellent.

Very enjoyable

It’s a classic, full of cheesy jokes, silly and often crude humour. It knows this about itself and doesn’t try to be something it isn’t.

I’ve never been out of love with this movie but have only recently bought it for keeps.
By the standards of the time the graphics were excellent and if this was to be re released using CGI it would be amazing if losing a bit of its character.
