An incredible feat and beautiful portrait of true connection.

This film was made using over 400 hours of footage shot over years. The dedication of the film makers is reflected in the incredible journey of the Rinpoche himself. The humility, kindness and connection between the child and his godfather, in the most challenging of circumstances is not only touching but inspiring. They travel together on foot, without complaint, criticism or fear through some of the world's most incredible and formidable vistas showcasing a seemingly unbreakable bond. A memorable film picturing spectacular scenery and truly impressive human beings.

I saw this in BFI london before and want to watch it again. Such a touching story and very enlightening. I was so moved by the film and I hope to see more of this kind of films in the future.

Utterly inspiring and eye opening
It's been ages since a film really made me feel I'd been shown the world in an entirely new way. At the the same time I was struck by elements of common human experience across different worlds.
