Bleak but great creature effects and gore
Verified purchase
I've been waiting for this film to be released on Prime for ages and the trailer was superb. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations and dragged on a bit too long. I found myself hitting the fast forward button towards the end during scenes that were supposed to build tension. It's very dark and bleak both visually and in its subject matter. The creature effects and blood & guts are really well done and there's quite a lot for horror fans but the Wendigo is kind of an aside, a metaphor for the real subject which is child abuse and neglect. This is all pretty obvious right from the start. I just wish there had been more focus on the Wendigo and the myths that surround it and less doom and gloom.

Hyped but didn’t deliver

This is not a babadook. It drags and isn’t scary at all, just silly. Shame as the characters were developed but the mythology of whatever it is supposed to be is an after thought. It’s one of those films where you just want then end to appear as there is no real tension in the direction. The opening cinematography and colour theme is nice, but nothing in this movie to hold attention.

Disappointed

Was really looking forward to this movie after hearing a reviewer on the radio who said it was very scary. Didn’t find it scary at all. Yet another disappointing horror film.

like gore, jumping out of your skin ? If the answer is yes then this dvd is for you

I really liked this DVD, started slowly with just one jump out of my skin episode, but things got better as time went on, lots of gore , the story really gets you going. and the end well that comes as quite a surprise with lots of blood and gore, and I was left thinking is there going to be another " Antlers 2" really hope so. the DVD took over 3 weeks to arrive, and was over £26, but believe me it was well worth waiting for.

Good film

It’s a good film, unexpected and classically strange for this director. There is the build up of the main characters and the background of the thing causing the mysterious murders. Overall good film, not quite sure about the ending but it is worth a watch.

Original and interesting

Read none spoiler reviews and a few did not give this film a chance so I took a chance and I really enjoyed the film.
It was an interesting storyline, the monster effects were really good graphics and design.
I think everyone thinks they are films critics thanks to covid, sitting at home doing nothing watching films all day, but I thought this film was worth watching.

The idea is great

I wanted to like this more than I did. The idea is great, not going to give anything a way, but it dragged in places. The acting is great in places and so are some of the effects, I just wish the ending had been more than it was and the pace had been a little quicker. Still, looking forward to what this director does next.

Was expecting some way better than that

I was looking forward to this movie for ages and due to covid it kept getting delayed for its release!

Then when it was released it ended up being a boring slow burner with little going on till the end which was also a predictable way to end and not good either
