Backpacks are always useful, but there are a plethora out there so how do you decide to choose which one to get? A backpack isn’t much good if it has plenty of space but is back-achingly difficult to wear, or if the straps cut into you. Then again, you might have one that’s really comfortable but has the capacity of a tupperware box. No, it has to have both comfort and capacity, and this Amazon Basics option ticks those boxes.With eight outside pockets and nine internal ones (two zipped), you won’t have trouble finding somewhere to carry your bits and pieces. As for the comfort, the shoulder straps are well padded along with three back pads. The thing with this pack is that by undoing a velcro strap, the shoulder straps can be put into nine different positions depending on whether you prefer a high or low fitting. What many backpacks seem to be missing is either a chest or waist strap or even both but not here; this is complete with those.The black and grey and blue edging actually make it look good too (and some may consider the aesthetic quality as important). The tags for the zips are all high quality. The stitching is good and there’s also a carrying handle. Surprisingly, what it doesn’t have is a brand name of any description, which I find quite refreshing. As for the weight, that all depends on what you carry, but I packed in some camera gear, which isn’t the lightest of equipment, and it did the job, so it should take whatever you throw in it.
