Comfortable Fit
Designed for a variety of body sizes, the backpack provides a secure, fully adjustable fit around the torso, an adjustable waist belt, and adjustable straps at the shoulders for upper-load balance and support. An open-cell foam lumbar pad and molded channels offer important lower-back support and promote increased airflow, while thick padded shoulder straps make even heavier loads comfortable to carry. The backpack’s design accommodates women and men, youth and adults alike.

Let It Rain
Don’t let a little rain slow you down. The hiking backpack features a water-repellent exterior coating, plus an integrated water-resistant rainfly, which prevents light rain from getting inside. For heavier rain, use the included waterproof cover to keep everything from clothing and food to cameras and other electronics safely protected and dry.

Ample Storage Space
Extensive pockets and roomy compartments help keep stored items organised and easy to find. Even more, the backpack comes equipped with multi-directional compression straps, which help hold your gear securely in place and prevent items from jostling around.

Sleeping Bag Compartment
The backpack’s large sleeping-bag compartment provides designated space for neatly packing and transporting your sleeping bag. The sleeping bag remains perfectly rolled and easy to access right when you need it, whether sleeping in a tent or under the stars.
Customer reviews
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I'm not sure what 'used' means in this instance, the rucksack appearing to be brand new, still having the moisture absorption crystal sachets in side pockets and no evidence of any use in the field whatsoever, so I'm happy there.
As with many other reviewers, the design is fantastic, lots of external pockets for kit one might wish to have access to on an ongoing basis, without having to delve into the main compartment of the sack, a feature I really value.
The fit and ability to adjust fit is excellent, my back isn't so brilliant, so the comfort of fit is a really important aspect of design for me. I have read reviews that have questioned the back height adjustment, so I will monitor this.
I've chosen the 55 liter rucksack quite deliberately, a little secret (don't tell anyone) if you have a big rucksack (120 liter monster for e.g.) do you know what you will do with it? well you'll fill it! Better to have a smaller rucksack and take only what's necessary, one's back will agree! So all those on Helvellyn with monster rucksacks (not doing army exercises in Scandinavia snow) take note! Get smaller rucksacks and leave the solar powered foot spa, the telescopic mobile phone signal booster mast and the myriad other 'useful' items at home, as I said before your back will agree. So a 55 liter rucksack is perfectly adequate for my purposes.
I'm happy with this purchase a well designed rucksack.
It has plenty of room for several changes of clothes, wet weather gear, sun hat and cream, your mobile first aid kit (don’t forget that!), some food, plus whatever else you may need on a trip. And it has a couple of ‘secret’ pockets for passport, tickets and money.
Two large side pockets are not so secret but are securely zipped and capped with fabric to keep the rain out. The main carrying space is particularly well provided against the rain; it looks as if it would successfully resist many hours of incessant wet. I am not in a hurry to put mine to the test on that, but we will see.
Externally, there are two pockets for drink bottles, straps to secure a bed roll, lots of loops to hang things on (generally speaking, not recommended – that’s the way to lose things) and a criss-cross ‘latching loop’ that will hold a jumper or other garment when you start to get hot – but, again, it would be much safer inside the rucksack.
The ‘internal frame’ is to my mind more a matter of internal stiffening, restricted to the back (i.e. no actual frame), but it does the job and the whole thing is very comfortable to carry, with straps to keep it firm across the stomach and chest, both with plenty of adjustment. The starting weight, before putting anything in, is 1.9kg (4.2lb).
Deep inside is a label. It says that both interior and exterior fabric are 100 per cent polyester, and all possible washing symbols, from dry cleaning, through machine washing to tumble drying and ironing have a cross through them. So you won’t have to spend time washing it! But I am sure spot treatment, as may be necessary, with a damp cloth and maybe a bit of detergent and/or use of a nail brush would be fine.
It has an extensive range of pouches including two external water bottle pouches (albeit relatively small) and a couple of non-removable side pouches. At the bottom it has a sleeping bag compartment and a separate smaller compartment for the included wet weather protection cover.
It's fairly spacious inside with more than enough space for my intended use of accommodating extra layers, waterproofs and rations for two adults when I go walkabouts in the New Forest and Brecon Beacons. It should also suit the needs of festival goers too. Overall, a quality and well priced item for your average weekend rambler.
