Good quality, but inconsistent materials between colours

Size 30 x 30 fit well, slightly above the knee length and as hoped they are not slim, but not baggy.
As a general rule I find normal fit I find are often more like a parachute, and slim are too tight. However these shorts fit about right.

The only disappointing thing is that this is the second pair I have bought recently, and the materials are different. The grey are a really nice material with a smooth feel and look like proper golf shorts, which matched the material of the amazon essentials trousers I bought and would highly recommend. The grey ones also had the rubber strip to stop your shirt riding up. The black shorts I just received are more of a chino material, they are still ok but definitely not as nice as the grey ones in my opinion.
The chino finish have made me wonder whether I will purchase again as I do not like chino type material, the smoother material of the grey ones I would definitely purchase again. The inconsistent materials is the only thing preventing a 5* review.

I didn’t have any great expectations of these shorts, as they are cheap. But honestly I absolutely love them and have ordered more in different colours, I wanted a pair to play golf in and with a little stretch in the waist they are perfect. Size I normally buy medium as I’m 34-36 size, I ordered 34 and they are perfect. But the big bonus for me is that they are smart enough to wear on an evening out in the summer, when smart not sport shorts are called for. Thank you Amazon Basics

I really wanted to love these but unfortunately they too baggy for my liking! Im a slim built it might fit a bigger legs better but shame as the quality and workmanship is great! Amazon come with a slimmer fitting version and I shall go for every colour!

If your waist is in between the even numbers (I.e. a 37”) then get these as the stretch slim fit are just the job. They are comfortable and smart and hang well from the waist. We’ll worth the money.

These shorts are so cheap but they look and feel like they are worth 20 times what it's priced at. The fabric has a lustrous feel to it. Almost silky. It looks and feels expensive. The sizing is generous. I'm 34. Ordered 34 but it feels 1 size up. So 33 would fit me. Two back pockets at the back is a nice touch.

These are NOT slimfit ..... I wish I had read what others said. They may he slimfit for someone who is 23 stone, but seriously, the description needs to he changed as currently it is a clear misrepresentation of fact. If you want slimfit, DO NOT BUY THESE.
