5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful solar charger
By Chrrris on 31 May 2021
I purchased this as an inexpensive way to begin experimenting with solar power. Was a little bit reticent after reading some of the other reviews but I have to say I'm delighted with it -- it's everything I expected.

When it was delivered, the charge level indictor had one light lit (of four), indicating it had between 25%-50% charge. I left it outside on a shed roof (pictured) in direct sunlight for about 4-5 hours and it had charged up to 75%. A couple more hours the following day had it up to 100%. When fully charged, it will recharge my smartphone or tablet about 5 or 6 times over. I have literally *never* had to plug this in to charge from the mains yet.

It does, however, really need direct sunlight and preferably be angled towards the sun to charge at the full rate (about 5W). On an overcast day, or inside on a window sill the charge rate drops considerably. At the moment though, in May in UK, there is plenty of sun to keep both my phone and tablet fully charged.

I can only assume some of the negative reviewers on here either had faulty units, or possibly had over-inflated expectations of how fast it could charge in limited light situations. It does really need full sun.

I can't comment on the longevity of it yet as I haven't had it long enough. It seems robustly made though and is supplied with a carrying strap and caribiner. The four detachable solar panels clip on very easily are are held in place via strong magnets (strong enough not to detach when the charger is dangled from my rucksack using the supplied caribiner. Although it claims water-resistance, I wouldn't want to get it particularly wet... I'm sure it'd be okay in a light rain shower, but I'm not sure how well the solar panels would fare in a heavy downpour -- I'm not about to find out!

All in all though, I can't really fault it for the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solar Power Battery Bank
By Kartik Anilcumar on 29 May 2020
Thanks to amazon the Product the Delivered Quickly.
It is a very useful product if you are traveling a lot and are in Locations where you don't have Power. it charges quite fast if you Attach all the Solar Panel with only 1 Pannel in Build it takes time to charge. The Wireless charging is good if you have a compatible phone as my old Nexus 6 charges fine. it gets little bit hot while charging in Direct Sunlight so recommend the panel to be placed on the top and hide the Battery from the direct sunline at the lost of 1 pannel other than that you can't really use the USB c to charge as Micro and USB-C are to charge the Bank from your Regular power adapter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I wanted to experiment with solar
By Helen on 7 April 2021
I bought this charger because I wanted to use more solar energy and less outlet energy for small, daily charging. The charger came exactly as described. It seems to be made of sturdy, good quality materials, and the cord handle and carabiner extensions have been useful for hanging the charger in the window for maximum access to sun. Wherever possible, I charge it outside, and have had the opportunity to test its water resistance firsthand, after leaving it in heavy rain for about 30 minutes. It still worked fine, the panels dried quickly, and the port cover was sufficient to protect the electrical components from water. It definitely takes time to get a full charge on solar energy alone, but I intend to experiment with it throughout the year, and hope in the sunniest months that it will save a small amount of electricity usage. I think this would also be great to bring for camping, festivals or other outdoor activities, especially because of the built-in torch. Although the power bank doesn't quite take on all my charging needs through solar, it has achieved my goal of reducing the number of charges I take from an outlet each week, so I am happy with it.
