Poor quality for Asics

I have bought Asics for a while now as they are true to size but I rarely get more than 2 years out of a pair before the upper mesh develops a hole. I only walk in them, they are not used for running. However this particular pair of trainers were really disappointing. The insole developed a deep hole within 6 months of purchase which made walking extremely uncomfortable (had to buy a pair of insoles to fit in so I could keep wearing) and then the inevitable hole in the upper mesh, before the trainers were 10 months old. Very poor quality and I expect a longer lifespan out of a £60 pair of trainers. Had to replace already and not had 12 months. Disappointing.

I've worn Asics GT 2000s for running for years, and they have been great. I've now stopped running and didn't want to shell out £120 for trainers for long walks and day use, so switched to these having seen other reviews.
They do not disappoint, nice design and very comfortable. If I was still running I think these would be as good as the GTs.

I run mostly off-road, across heathland. These shoes are so comfortable to wear. Well cushioned sole and heel, good fit. I'm a size 9 with a wide foot so normally have to but a size bigger for the width but these fit fine without over bulging at the sides. Very pleased!

Nice stable shoe, run slightly big for me but I tried a size smaller and they are too tight. Good ride (5 miles) not done a long run in these but the cushion is ok not quite a soft as my Reebok floatride but definitely not uncomfortable. Lock in on the upper is great and it’s a nice breathable shoe

I’m normally a size 7 UK shoe and in most brands the size is spot on. But the trainers I received are a bit on the tight size, not unwearable but don’t fit well. I bought them for toad walking instead of walking boots and the comfort level is excellent, great cushioning underfoot.

My second pair of ASICS Running Shoes, Especially like the GEL technology, better for my joints, (I'm 77).
The only thing I'm not too pleased about is the thickness of the tread on the heel and sole, barely 3mm. and this will wear down, otherwise, great running shoes.
