Comically bad. SO bad it's almost good.

I love awful Christmas films, but this one is just.... wow.. it is truly one of the worst Christmas films i've ever watched, I sat on my sofa drinking my wine in complete shock as to how this was ever green lit...
This has cheating, blackmail and paparazzi... (it actually kind of does!!)
The idea is great- the joy of presents is gifting them rather than receiving. But the execution is just extraordinarily bad.
The main character is likeable until he falls in love and gains a stepson with a woman other than his fiance all within around 3 days of meeting her (I think it's supposed to be set over 12 days, hence the title). I mean he was accepting dinners at that woman's house whilst his fiance was at their house probably having dinner alone? Yes, she's annoying and a little rude, but isn't this kind of cheating?! I think the viewer is supposed to overlook all of this and love Baxter (the main man) regardless of his questionable morals. Oh, and this is after we see him taking photos of young children in the woods on frozen lakes and lets not forget the creepiest shoot of all- the one through the new (oblivious) girlfriend's window with a long lens and gloves on.... classic and nothing predatory at all, he's just getting in the Christmas spirit.
The new woman's child is unbearable and has braces... I have never seen such a 'young child' with braces, but that's besides the point, he is plain annoying and frankly quite rude to his caregivers, going as far as to blackmail his new 'friend'.

To summarise, yes, go and watch this film if you need a laugh, something to get drunk to or some background noise. It's really bad and it will let you down, but it's pretty comically bad.
If you do take the plunge and go for it, look out for the 'shocked faces' when Baxter pays the lay-away charges, I spat my wine out because I was laughing so much. Amazing.

Good Christmas Movie

This is a Christmas film in which unsuccessful, down on his luck photographer Baxter (David Blue) finds himself the sudden recipient of $50,000 in a contest. His materialistic and annoying fianceé wants him to spend it on steak and champagne for all at their upcoming wedding, as well as a honeymoon in Bora Bora, but Baxter doesn't think like her.
The movie is all around the premise that its "Better to give than receive". The film is not perfect but it's not a time waster.
This is one of the better Television Christmas movies.

AMAZING!

The man in this film is who every other young, growing boy and girl should look up too. The way he gives away a lot in return for something a lot of people class as a little. A smile. Everyone knows the saying "A little goes a long way" and this film shows that exact quote brilliantly. I would highly recommend this film to anyone who has dreams and who wants to choose the right pathway through life.
